To Crop or Not To Crop?

Hmm, its 9.30pm, my daughters in bed and my husband is out, my peace has arrived, tho im almost ready to hit the sack myself! arh parenthood is tiring business.
Now, on to fashion, last month I was very brave! with all the new cropped lady do's around, I got all my hair chopped off rather short! I liked it, easy to manage, stylish unlike my dead, flat, long locks which I had been desperately growing for as long as I can remember with an image in my head of long, wavy, wild bouncy hair.. never going to happen! and i decided its time to face the facts, it was time to go with something that matched my hair type.
Anyway, with short hair the style grows out so fast, and I'm ready for a cut again! but I keep questioning wether or not to cut it, or grow it out to a new style?! Hmmm, with seasons changing faster than my brain sends a message to my hair follicle to grow, maybe I should keep one step ahead and prepare for the cute bobs I hope will be in for spring. Im counting on the celebs here.. if they decide to go with an 80's perm look.. I'm finished! tho I got to say, I'm loving this seasons short hairstyles!

Men & Sports

Im not a big fan of sports, never have been. Most of the popular sports seem to evolve around getting a ball into some kind of net/hole, it doesn't excite me. Now I know there's some women out there that are football fans, or golf or whatever it might be. But generally speaking, men are all about sports, and I'm not just saying men like sports, so many are crazy about it! why?
A long time ago I had a boyfriend, he played football, watched every match, even waited for the latest adidas football boots to come out (because that was the brand David Beckham wore.) He always tried to be a matcho type of guy, and I guess alot of men do. But I noticed something very different when it came to at football match.
When there was a game, on the screen or on the pitch, he would be with his mates, shout and scream, when their team scored, they would embrace each other like I've never seen before, even plant a great big kiss on each others faces! where have the bunch of matcho men gone?!
So I came to the conclusion, with so much pressure being on these men to act up and try to prove who has the biggest balls of all, they needed to let go once in a while, let out the softer side and show some affection for each other, sports let them do just that.
So now if i ever see a pitch full off players or a stadium full of men, I don't see a bunch of tough guys waiting for a ball to get in a net, I see a bunch of softies just wanting to kiss their pals and tell them.. 'I love you mate.'

Dieting a Mind Game?

Almost every woman I know has tried dieting, but when it comes to success stories, honestly I don't know any! I cant help but ask myself why?
Dieting had become a huge market, since the change of a woman's frame in the 1960's (thanks twiggy!) were under extreme pressure to be tiny! while its a bit ridiculous, its also understandable that every woman wants to be beautiful.
When I tried dieting, I didn't really follow a specific diet like the south beach or Atkins, but I guess you could say it was pretty low carb, and there's one thing I had a big problem with.. Restrictions!! there were so many things I told myself I couldn't have, it was oh so painful! torturing!! in fact, just because I told myself I couldn't have it kind of made me want it more. Thinking about this got me wondering if this is a part of human nature, after all, children are like this, aren't they? if this is so then every woman on a diet must be feeling that same urge to indulge in whatever it is they have told themselves they can't have, what a way to live! so, I have come up with a few rules for dieting, thinking about it mentally as well as physically.
  1. NO RESTRICTIONS! allow yourself to eat a bit of what you want, or you will just end up so desperate you might polish of three apple pies in one night.
  2. Don't keep eating till you have that bloated feeling, so many people I know do that! but i'm totally for 'eating till your not hungry anymore'. You might find yourself feeling hungry every 2-3 hours like this, its not a bad thing, this will get that metabolism moving.
  3. Eat a little of what you don't fancy as well as what you do, this might be a salad or some steamed veg, but if you treat yourself to a little cake for desert it will all be worth it.
  4. Exercise, doesn't have to be at the gym, do 10 mins in the morning, 10 mins on your lunch break and 10 mins when you get home. Ta Da! thats 30 minutes a day!
  5. Put away the scales. Weighing yourself everyday will make your diet go so slow, you will loose patience. Also, muscle weighs more than fat, so if your exercising alot, chances are you wont loose a great deal. Go out and buy yourself an outfit 2 sizes too small, this will give you something to work towards.
Keeping all this in mind, I think there might just be some diet success stories to tell.

Black is Back

With the summer season coming to a close, I've been scanning the web to see what's in store for next seasons fashion, and its good news for all! Black is back.. in a big way.
Im sure we can all find some black favorite's in our closets, so that will save some pennies instead of splashing out on a whole new winter wardrobe.
Secondly black is deemed the most flattering for all shapes and sizes. All you need to do is team your blacks with a full of fringe, an edgy crop or some vamp tresses and plum lips, you will look like you have just walked straight off the catwalk.
